Mr. Till, following is Walid's response to your refutation Ezekiel 26 :
..............................................................
->> The answer to Adnan's Farrel Till problems <<----
I spent several hours of research on this, it is very interresting,
especially for Christians
Adnan (Till) argues saying that Ezekiel was wrong concering Nebuchadandzz=
ar
as the one who destroyed Tyre since Alexander destroyed it.
These problems Adnan presented can be resolved in several points: =20
1) Notice in Ezekiel 26:3 the verse says: "I will bring MANY NATIONS aga=
inst
you " and not ONLY Nebuchadandzzar (Babylon) . This will solve the proble=
m
with
arguing that Alexander was the one who destroyed Tyre and not Nebuchadanz=
zar.
That in itself should put the critics to scilence.
2) In verse 8 the prophecy is giving Nebuchadanzzar the power to destroy=
the
settlements on the main land(NOT THE ISLAND) with the sword. This was
fulfilled to the letter, as he was able to defeat and plunder the cities =
on
the shore. This fulfilled Ezek 26:7-11
"For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: From the north I am going to b=
ring
against Tyre Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, with horses a=
nd
chariots, with horsemen and a great army. He will ravage YOUR SETTLEMENTS=
ON
THE MAIN LAND with the sword; he will set up siege works against you, bui=
ld a
ramp up to your walls and raise his shields against you. He will direct t=
he
blows of his battering rams against your walls and demolish your towers w=
ith
his weapons.
His horses will be so many that they will cover you with dust. Your walls
will tremble at the noise of the war horses, wagons and chariots when he
enters your gates as men enter a city whose walls have been broken throug=
h.
The hoofs of his horses will trample all your streets; he will kill your
people with the sword, and your strong pillars will fall to the ground".
In 573-585 B.C Tyre surrendered to Nebuchadnezzar Babylon fulfilling
Ezekiel's prophecy =20
3) Further in verse 12 marks a shift from the prophocy concering
Nebuchadnezzar to prophetic declarations about other invaders promised in
verse 3. The verse starts with the word "THEY" pretaining to verse 3, all=
the
verses using "He" refers to Nebuchadnezzar and the words that use "They"
refer to "Many Nations". This is the problem with this arguments Bible
critics like to make, and the play with words to discredit The Bible.=20
As history records that many nations did come up against the island city =
of
Tyre.
4) Alexander finally conquered the city and literally scraped it to build=
a
coseway to kill the inhabitants of the Island city. This fulfilled verse =
14
of Ezekiel 26. However verse 3 still stands as other nations will still
attack her in the future. The Muslims for example invaded Tyre and took
the city from the Crusaders.
5) In Ezek 26:14 "I will make you a bare rock, and you will become a plac=
e to
spread fishnets. You will never be rebuilt". The critics cannot answer th=
e
bare rock which is used for drying fish nets today, take a visit today an=
d
see for yourself, and the fact that Tyre which was one of the greatest ci=
ties
of the world is no more, even though there are some people living around =
her
does not mean that Tyre is still there. The original city(mainland and
Island) are empty, and no one can rebuild her even though Tyre has fresh
water springs producing millions of gallons enough to build a world major
coatal city. One can see the huge colomns in the water today, and even th=
e
dust was scraped off by Alexander The Great. The city was literally scrap=
ed
off and thrown into the sea fulfilling verse 13. No other city in the wor=
ld
has had this happen except Tyre.
6) The problems with accusing Ezekiel of being a Liar will never stick fo=
r
several reasons, and I will mention a few:
=20
- Why would Ezekiel make such outlandish predictions about Tyre to never =
be
inhabitted and rebuilt.
- If the manuscripts were tampered with later on(after the event), ho=
w
could it be that the later events happened only hundreds of years ago, th=
e
Dead Sea Scrolls can prove that the Ezekiel we have today is exactly what=
was
before Christ.
The same attack on Isaiah was going on for centuries, as they thought the=
re
was 2 Isaiah's. This was also shattered by the discovery of The Dead Sea
Scrolls.
- The prophecy is still being fulfilled today, as the challenge still
goes on "try to rebuild Tyre".
- Other prophecies made in The Bible confirms the impossibility of
destroying God's promisses, as Israel was invaded several times by Muslim
Arabs, and were defeated. If Israel was finished, anihilated, and destroy=
ed
then The Bible would have been a total fraud. The God of Israel promissed =
in
this second restoratiom declaring ; =93and they shall not be pulled up=94=
(Jer
24:6), yet the Arab and Muslim world will try again. Please read on as Ty=
re
is mentioned here and is crucial to the points I brought up.
God in the Bible promissed that they will fail. The Psalms of David
(Al-Zabur), in chapter 83. Notice verse 4 =93They have said, =93Come, and=
let us
cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remember=
ed
no more.=94. Which sounds like a speech by Jamal Abdel-Naser, and every A=
rabic
leader who declared war on Israel and lost, exactly what the Bible foreto=
ld
thousands of years ago by David(Daud).=20
It is fascinating as it names all the nations that opposed Israel in t=
he
last 50 years. The nations mentioned are: Edom, Moab, Amalek, Ammon, chil=
dren
of Lot (Jordan), Ishmaelites and Hagarites (The Arabs), Gebal (Beirut), =
The
inhabitants of Tyre (Syrians), Philistines (Palestinians and Syrians),
Assyria (Iraq). Notice it said =93THE INHABITANTS OF TYRE=94, since God a=
lready
new that the city of Tyre itself will be destroyed and totally removed
(Ezekiel 26), yet it's people still have there desendants living. How did
David (Daud) know of this if he wrote the Psalms (Al-Zabur) from his own
mind. Why didn=92t the Quran mention these truths?
=20
Also notice the most important verse 16 =93Fill their faces with shame=
, That
they may seek Your name, O Lord.=94. This was fulfilled literally, I myse=
lf
witnessed The Jordanian Army fleeing from fear, they were taking there
uniforms off and runing with there underwears from fear. It is also a
declaration to the enemies of Israel, that the God of the Bible does not =
hate
the Arabs or the Muslims, but is requesting them to repent and turn to
him(That they may seek Your name O Lord), and beleieve in his salvation, =
he
is like a loving father to his children, that when they go against his wi=
ll
he would have to inflict some pain as to re-direct them His way.=20
The same God did for the Phraoh of Egypt, he bid him to let His people=
go,
then started with simple punsihments of frogs, hail, and other stuff, he
loved the egyptians who many of them went along with Moses.
These prove the impossibilities of such accusations and show that The Bib=
le
is 100% God's Word.
