Re: Science Proves the Bible- since it's been slow

Science proves the bible? Let's see..........
I've snipped a bunch of John's original post due to length. This is from
some Xtian radio show John Hamilton listens to. I don't know how he can
stomach listening to this junk but I'll bet he has a good time!!!

PREACHER MAN:
Let us notice some examples of the harmony between science and the Bible. "In
the beginning God created the heavens and the earth"(Gen. 1:1) This was
written by Moses through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit about 1500 B.C.
In 1820 A.D. a man named Hubert Spencer gave the world five scientific
principles by which man may study the unknown. They are time, force, energy,
space, and matter. However, Moses, by inspiration, gave us those scientific
principles in Genesis 1:1. "In the beginning" --God; "created" -- energy;
"the heavens" --space; "and the earth" -- matter. All of Spencer's scientific
principles are right there in Genesis 1:1.

INERRANT WORD OF GOD: with my (Sarah's) comments in parenthesis
Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of
the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.
(This is my personal favorite. I guess the earth was just a blob of water
and God was going swimming!)
3 And God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
4 And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the
darkness.
5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was
evening and there was morning, one day.
6 And God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and
let it separate the waters from the waters." (this sounds like the earth
is a slab between 2 blobs of H2O)
7 And God made the firmament and separated the waters which were under the
firmament from the waters which were above the firmament. And it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was
morning, a second day.
9 And God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into
one place, and let the dry land appear." And it was so.
10 God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together
he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, "Let the earth put forth vegetation, plants yielding seed,
and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its
kind, upon the earth." And it was so.
12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to
their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each
according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

SARAH
Oh, I see, it only took 3 days to create the heavens and the earth. Well,
all scientists must be wrong in their calculations and dating of the age of
the different layers of rock, mountains, etc. The studies of the Grand
Canyon must be a hoax!! I'm not going to go into the many contradictions in
the book of Genesis, there are too many to mention!!!

INERRANT WORD OF GOD
Geneses 2:
7 then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into
his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

SARAH
So, all anthropologists are barking up the wrong tree of knowledge. I've
always believed people are dirt! You notice that God didn't make other
living beings from dirt. Aren't we the lucky ones?

INERRANT WORD OF GOD
8 And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east; and there he put
the man whom he had formed.
9 And out of the ground the LORD God made to grow every tree that is
pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst
of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (now wait a
minute! God already made every living plant and thing! What's up with
this?)

15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and
keep it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "You may freely eat of every
tree of the garden;
17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for
in the day that you eat of it you shall die."

SARAH
Well, God is a liar! Adam did not die after he ate from the tree of good and
evil. You may also note that God did not tell Eve that she couldn't eat from
that tree. Adam had no self control. No wonder men are like they are!!!:)
Just kidding!!!

PREACHER MAN
Moses, again writing by inspiration hundreds of years ago, told us something
man did not know until much later. "For the life of the flesh is in the
blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your
souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul" (Leviticus
17:11). How could Moses have known about the life-giving qualities of blood
unless God had revealed it to him?'

SARAH
This guy doesn't know how to read. In my bible, THE LORD is speaking to
Moses in this chapter. This means that Moses does not know this fact about
blood, God is telling him this fact.

PREACHER MAN
Many archaeologists have explored the land of Palestine. Has any one of those
scientists ever discovered anything which disproves the Bible?

JOHN
[yes]

PREACHER MAN
No. Many archaeological discoveries have confirmed the Biblical record.
However, none has ever contradicted the Word of God. This ought to be very
reassuring to those of us who believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of
God. At the same time, it ought to convince the skeptic, the agnostic, the
atheist, that this book is God's book. Therefore, not only does God exist,
but He has revealed His Will to man.

Many other examples of the harmony between science and the Bible could be
given. However, the ones we have examined are sufficient to show that the
Bible is God's book. As the apostle Paul declared, All Scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be
complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16,17).

SARAH
We are back to the eternal argument: the INERRANT WORD OF GOD is chock full
of evil deeds done by the Big Guy himself. The INERRANT WORD OF GOD is chock
full of lies and contradictions.

PREACHER MAN
The Bible is accurate in matters of science, and it is accurate in the matter
of salvation. The Bible tells us that to be saved we must believe in Jesus
Christ. "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you
do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." However, the same
Lord said, "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise
perish(Luke 13:3). Jesus also spoke of confessing Him before men. "Therefore
whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who
is in heaven."But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before
My Father who is in heaven"(Matthew 10:32,33). And Jesus declared, "He who
believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be
condemned"(Mark 16:16). It is then that the Lord himself adds us to the
church of the New Testament, the one body of believers. If the Bible is
accurate in matters of science, it is accurate in the matter of salvation.
Will you respond to the inspired Word?

SARAH
Hell, no!!!!!

John Hamilton

The other day upon the stair,
I met a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today,
I wish I wish he'd go away.

"There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of
donkeys, and whose emission was like that of horses." -Ezekial 23:20

SARAH
I finally read this chapter in Ezekial and find God to be a major jerk! (big
surprise?!) He punished the two sisters for doing what came naturally, but
the thousands of men who used these two women were not punished at all! God
is a chauvinist pig!!!
