FALLACY ALERT -- poisoning the well & abusive ad hominem.
Following that splendid example, it makes perfect sense to assert that
Pope John-Paul II is actually a covert, godless Communist planted within the
ranks of the Roman Catholic priesthood in order to destroy the RCC from
within. The timing is right, since Karol Wojtyla didn't become a priest
until after WWII (and was a factory WORKER during the war) and we know that
Stalin had already attempted to plant agents within the Russian Orthodox
priesthood. Since any devoted, godless communist would certainly lie
without hesitation in order to advance the glorious cause of the workers'
revolution, it makes perfect sense to assume that Pope J-P II (if he were
indeed a communist agent provocateur) would be equally ready to deny such an
affiliation in order to remain where he could do the most harm, and so we we
have no reason to accept the veracity and sincerity of his religious
agreements and statements. And as Joe McCarthy was fond of saying back in
the 1950's, there's no evidence to prove that Karol Wojtyla isn't a
communist, so we must perforce conclude that he is a communist. Sound familiar?
